Looking at trees growing in our pinetum

They are only growing here because they have been planted.  They would not naturally grow in the UK.  They do not spread seeds and produce young trees because the conditions are not right.

Use a map to find some of these trees.

Go to the numbers on the map.  Write the number next to the right name of the tree.

What is the bark like?  Look at it, feel it, write three words about it.

What about the leaves?  What colour are they (not just green)

Do the leaves smell?  If so, what of?

What country does the tree come from?

Look at the map of the world to find where the trees come from.
